Step 1 - Removing the Direct-drive cleaner head from the wand. Disconnect the cleaner head from the wand by pressing the release button. Step 2 - Unlocking the brushbar end cap. NB: Beware of sharp objects when checking for blockages.

Given the bin lid that is jammed, this is something we understand can be frustrating, in most cases if the bin has never been removed , I recommend just adding some force. Answer. If it goes about halfway-ish, or a little less you can try pulling it up slightly (and carefully!) and it should be fine. If not, look on the bottom sides where you can see the red tab near the debris lid and make sure its secure. Also confirm if the canister is fully attached properly.

Dust might have hardened inside, ''glueing'' the bin shut. Grease it up and try again. Try to help it pry open with a straight screwdriver. Either way you'll have to go manual on its butt.
